Wednesday, April 22, at 6:30 pm | CELEBRATE National Library Week with NYT bestselling children's author Ben Clanton, the author and illustrator of the popular Narwhal and Jelly series. In addition to a family-friendly presentation + drawing activity in the evening, we are also partnering with Champaign Unit 4 Schools for visits to two elementary schools. Stop by either branch to pick up your free Narwhal and Jelly Book Club Kit before the event!

Celebrating National Volunteer Week!
THANK YOU to all of our wonderful volunteers for their time and dedication to the library. As we celebrate National Volunteer Week (April 19–25), we want to recognize the impact of their contributions. This past year, 278 community members and 35 groups helped the library with their combined efforts totaling 10,244 hours!
 
We would like to also express our appreciation for our Library, Foundation, and Friends Board members, as well as the dedicated volunteers who work in our FriendShop Bookstore.

Writer’s Workshops
LIKE TO WRITE? This month, local poet Zach Simon will share tips on writing poetry at Poetry Roundtable, Part I (4/1), followed by Poetry Roundtable, Part II with Inaugural Poet Laureate of Urbana, Will Reger (4/15). Later in the month, poet Michael J. La Due will close out National Poetry Month with a talk about the art of poetry and share some of his work (4/23).
